Technology for Worship at InfoComm

So I get to work on Tuesday and my supervisor informs me that since the other guys in the department had gone to NAB ....... looks like I get to go to InfoComm on the company dime this year! For those that don't know, InfoComm is the NAB or AES for the projection/AV industry. This year it's in Anaheim, CA.
The thing is that the Technology for Worship conference is running in conjunction with the rest of the stuff. I hope that I can do a little of both but right now I have no clue if that's going to work out. As you all know I do this sound training thing a lot. As a matter of fact I have been busy doing so many different things that I have not been doing regular postings. Rest assured that I have not been wasting time though. There are a lot of things I am working on including the instructional DVD for newbie sound men that I have spoken about before. I went back to the drawing board on it because I didn't feel the production value was going to be at the level I wanted it. Trust me I feel like it was worth it.
So if nothing else I will post back on my InfoComm experiences later.

SDSS Training Event

What's up everybody! It has been a long time since I updated this blog. So many things have been going on it would take too long to even get into. But I am back on the 'blog waves'! I have been in the planning stage for a while so that I can put some good stuff out there for you! One of the things I have been doing is putting a lot of time into churchmedia.net which is a great online community of well, people involved in church media. Please stop by the site and check it out.
For those of you that subscribe to my podcast, I will be starting up a new "season" coming up this summer. I took down most of my episodes since they were focused on topics that were relevent at the time but don't make much sense now. Plans are also in place for a video podcast with tips and tutorials for a lot of common audio situations. There will also be an instructional DVD that will include more detailed information as well as all of the podcast lessons (once I have accumulated enough episodes). By request, these will include tips on how to better mix monitors from FOH (front-of-house), setting up mixes for CD and video and much more.

I have also decided to expand these lessons to also include some basic info and training about multi-media as well. I have been working a lot more in the video realm the last 3 years and have picked up some information that will definitely help ministries that are looking to add video to their list of outreach ministries. In other words there is more to come...
